Project Description

Starting fall of 2018, Torrence Creek Elementary will become the new home school for students in the portion of the Blythe Elementary attendance area west of Interstate 77.

  • Students entering kindergarten through fourth grade in fall of 2018 will be assigned to Torrence Creek Elementary instead of Blythe Elementary.
  • Students who will be in fifth grade will be assigned to stay at Blythe through the end of 2019 when they are expected to complete elementary school. If they would prefer to attend Torrence Creek, they must complete the "Request for Reassignment" process.
  • This change has no impact on students' middle and high school assignments. Students will remain in the Bradley Middle - Hopewell High feeder pattern.

  • My daughter currently attends Blythe Elementary and is a fourth grader. She will be a fifth grader during the 2018-2019 school year. We currently reside in an area not affected by the school reassignment plan. I am, however, contemplating a move to an area that IS affected by the school reassignment to Torrance Creek. My understanding is that because she will be entering fifth grade next year, she will not have to move to Torrance Creek Elementary if we don’t wish her to, even if we move to this affected area. Is this the case? How will transportation work for her next year? She currently rides the bus. Will a Blythe bus still pick her up and drop her off? Thank you! If

You are correct.  If you move to an area that is currently (17-18 school year) zoned for Blythe, your daughter will be allowed to stay at Blythe and will be eligible for transportation.  You can confirm this by reviewing the school assignment letter that should have come home with your daughter in early November.
